Support Educator Needed at Flintyxegatan

We are now looking for a support educator at Flintyxegatan as one of our educators is moving on to a new assignment.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be part of the team and have about 20% of your working hours allocated outside of everyday work, with working hours scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. We use the scheduling program Time Care, but are not included in any central adjustments. Sydvästen is an intrapreneurship for housing with special services, located at Flintyxegatan 4, Hagens stationsväg 34, and Björkedalsgatan 34. The units collaborate with each other, and as staff, you have your basic placement at one of the units, which for this position is at Flintyxegatan 4.

We work on the premise that each individual should be the "main role holder" in their own life. We actively work to encourage the individual's own will to live their life, providing opportunities for participation and the ability to influence how their day looks and what they need support with. The individual should be given the opportunity to develop towards as independent a life as possible. Therefore, it is important in this role to be attentive and have an eye for small details. Support includes all everyday situations both at home and during leisure time. We also provide support for social activities/health-promoting activities, such as water aerobics, cycling, walking, etc.

You will act as support and guide to your manager and colleagues in social documentation, among other things. We document in the administration system Treserva. If you have not previously used the systems used within the City of Gothenburg, you will receive training.

Qualifications

For the position of support educator, a post-secondary specialization in the area of disabilities is required, encompassing at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Experience is required in working with intellectual disabilities and care work with health and medical interventions. We would like you to have a strong interest in AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) in the form of digital aids and sign language support. It is also an advantage if you have experience with LAB (low-arousal approach), clear pedagogical methods, and IBIC (Individual Needs in Center).

You show respect for everyone you meet at work and are inviting and positive. You are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions. You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You can balance the demands placed on you and make well-founded decisions even under time pressure.

Communication is an important part of the job. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the testing provider Educateit. You have good computer skills and very good knowledge of social documentation. A valid driver's license (B) and driving experience are considered highly meritorious.

Swimming ability is also seen as a requirement as you are expected to participate in activities such as swimming.
